Landscape of Grand-Pré is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Grand-Pré was the site of the expulsion of the Acadians in 1755, and was later immortalized by American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow with his epic poem Evangeline. The church in the background was where the Acadians were held before their deportation.
